[last update 96-Feb-26]
It窶冱 been a hard day. You walk in the front door and see your spouse/child/doggie waiting there with a happy, hopeful expression plastered on his/her/its puss. Panic! You窶况e done it again. Forgotten another birthday 窶ヲor窶ヲ You saw the promo for the Pat Boone Story (featuring Henry Rollins) and remembered it only when everybody else was talking about the poignant 'stage diving' scene the next day.
If this sounds familiar, Remember? just might be what you need.
You enter descriptions of events of interest and, when you turn on your Mac, Remember? lists those that require your attention. Events with a specific starting time can also trigger a pop-up reminder with optional sound up to 24 hours in advance.
While it supports sharing event lists on a network, this package was primarily designed as a personal reminder package. If you can coax it to handle your group scheduling needs, great, but bear in mind that is not its raison d'テェtre.
Requires System 6.0.3 or later, System 6.0.5 or later is recommended. Works fine with System 7 through 7.5 and PowerMacs as well, but it is not PPC native.
Disclaimer
This program is distributed without any warranty, neither express nor implied. Its author is not responsible for losses incurred through the use or malfunction of this program. He will attempt to fix any problems as they are discovered. (The first person reporting a bug and giving sufficient information to allow duplication and correction will be sent a fixed version when available.) IF THESE TERMS ARE NOT ACCEPTABLE TO YOU, THEN DO NOT USE THIS SOFTWARE.
'Remember?' is SHAREWARE
This is the complete package. It does not contain any built-in time limit on use. You get the chance to try before you buy. After using the package for two weeks you must either stop using it if it does not suit your needs, or send me a payment to continue using the package.
Once you pay for any version, you may use future releases at no additional charge. However, obtaining new versions is your responsibility. I will do my best to make them widely available.
Please send the shareware payment if you decide to continue to use the package. I have put quite a lot of work into it. If you benefit from that work, please support it or it will stop (gotta eat you see.)
Many thanks to those folks who have paid. You are the reason why I continue to support and improve the package.
Payment
OK, so you love the package and want to pay for it. The basic cost is $20 (US dollars). If you like, I will send you a disk with the current version plus a few extras if you include an additional $5 to cover my costs. To encourage wide distribution, I also give a $5 discount for each on-line service, BBS or user group that you pass a copy of the package to a maximum of four (4). PLEASE DISTRIBUTE ONLY THE ENTIRE PACKAGE, PREFERABLY IN THE ORIGINAL SELF-EXTRACTING ARCHIVE FILE! It causes me no end of trouble when documentation or parts of the actual program are missing or damaged.
So the formula for what you should send is:
$20(us) Normal Shareware cost,
+ $ 5(us) if you want a disk with the current version,
- $ 5(us) for each service/BBS/group contribution (maximum of 4)
Send your payment via check, money order or if all else fails send currency. Checks must be on a U.S. bank or must list the address of a U.S. bank that will honor it. I don't accept credit card payments but am looking into how I can do so. Site licensing is available.
Make checks payable to David Warker. Be careful about the spelling. Lots of folks misspell my last name.
Mail your payment to:

- You must clearly state the SHAREWARE nature of the package.
